Welcome to Our New Global Health Fellow: Mitsuaki Hirai

Mitsuaki arrived in Kenya in July and dove right into his role as the new Global Health Fellow. With his passion, enthusiasm, and can-do attitude, we are sure he is going to do great things during his year in Chogoria. Here is a little information from Mitsuaki himself, “After graduating from a high school in Japan, I spent 6 years in the United States. I attended Soka University of America for my undergraduate study and received a master’s in public health at UCLA. Currently, I am serving as a global health fellow/public health program coordinator. I am determined to fully dedicate myself for Hopecore and our public health programs. A goal is to further improve the quality of school-based mobile clinics and community outreach events with the public health team, peer educators, and community health workers. I am looking forward to reporting how our public health programs contribute to improving community health in rural Kenya.”We’re so thankful to have Mitsuaki working in the village and excited to share with you his stories and accomplishments in the health program over the next year.
